Hello my name is Tina Thomas and I am a caregiver.
I have been caring for my mother in our home for over 4 years now and in December 2006 I have been caring for her full
time. I gave up my full time job so I could be at home with her. She could no longer care for herself and her
safety was my families priority. She has Orthostatic Hypotension which is a blood pressure condition. Her
blood pressure goes dangerously high or low at times and when she stands it can fall 60-70 points which can cause fainting
or falling. She has had several mini strokes in the past year and she also has moderate stages of Alzheimer's disease.
She has a wonderful doctor and I have been educated on her conditions so that I can care for her in our home.
Many of our loved ones and parents are happy to go into assisted
living facilities when they can no longer care for themselves full time, but I knew my mom would have been lonely and miserable.
Assisted living was out of the question. With the loving support of my husband, son, my brother and 3 sisters , we decided
to bring her into our home.
Whether you care for someone in your home or outside the
home, the love and compassion is the same.
Thank you for visiting.
